This morning (jan. 29) all 42.000 cards arrived from printing office. Now we can print the QSO-labels and make it all ready for delivery. to the Dutch QSL Bureau……
Like all good stories, this story has also a happy end. Dec 28 2018 at 24.00 LT all 11 city-stations and joker PI4ECC were closed down. Our operators made near 50.000 QSO’s with 181 DXCC entities. Their common opinion: “Glad it is done, but what a joy……”. And of course we hope you did like it also, hunting the 11 cities.
The conditions did not cooperate and the higher bands are not used the last months. Also the most recent FT8 version 2 came too late for a nice score in this mode. That’s a pity because there was no interest in RTTY and less in PSK. So the 50.000 QSO’s are divided in 31.500 CW, 12.500 Phone and 5.500 digital.
Now you can make a request for the award, if you reached the requirements. In the upcoming months the QSL-cards and awards will be distributed.
This marathon year the atmospheric conditions became poor. Because of this we lowered the requirements to achieve an award! The requirements are now:
- European stations need all 11 cities
- AS stations (regions 17, 18, 20) need 8 cities
- All other Asia stations need 4 cities
- AF stations need 3 cities
- NA stations need 6 cities
- South- and middle American stations need 3 cities
- OC stations need 2 cities
Applications can be done on the appropriate page.
Now also the last city Stavoren is QRT. For the last time we will take a deep breath, preparing for the finishing touch. Suppose you missed some cities, perhaps you did not work enough cities for the award!!! It sounds like a disaster! Therefore we offer you a last opportunity…..: From december 1 until december 28 all the 11 cities will be activated again as well as the Jokerstation PI4ECC. PI4ECC counts for 1 missing city for the award.
The Stavoren-month was a nice month in qso’s. The operators on our side were enthousiastic, you was fantastic, so together we made 4700 QSO’s.The conditions are uncertain and variable, but the bands above 14mc are useless (except the FT8 signals) and the lower bands die out earlier every month. Outside Europe we worked a lot of W/VE, less JA’s, but a single SA, VK/ZL, none AF and OC. However, during the CQWW CW we participated with PI4ECC and worked easily BY, HS YB and VK/ZL, no region 10, 11, 12 and 13..
All QSO’s have been uploaded to LoTW, QRZ and Clublog. You can check on validity of your QSO’s with our in-built logsearch. Something wrong? Mail to email@example.com and we will solve it.
We hope to meet you again in december…..
Saturday, june 9 from 06.00 utc – 08.00 utc and sunday, june 10 from 06.00 – 08.00 utc OM Rene (ex PE1L, now PA9RX) will be active on 2 mtrs EME with the call PI4ECC.
With a considerable delay we started today equipping our radiostation on its final location. Now we are accomodated in the visitor-centre of the ECC organization, just opposite the railway station in Leeuwarden. At first we are only active on 20 meters, working hard to install antennas and equipment for the other bands. Guest operators are welcome during the opening hours.
You and your family are invited to visit Leeuwarden and surroundings in order to be present at all events on occasion of all the Cultural City-events. A lot to do (guest-operator) and a lot to see…….
March 30 is the last day of the city of IJlst (PF2018YLS) and April 1 the 4th city (Sloten, PF2018SLO) is coming up.
March appeared to be a difficult month concerning DX. There was hardly DX possible. Mostly European stations are worked and less W/VE, none AS, OC, VK/ZL, SA and AF. This is somewhat disappointing, for us, but also for all Hams who are chasing us. Generally spoken: the highest band is 20 mtrs, which opens somewhat from 13.00 GMT, and some activity on 30. Both bands are closing here about 16.00/17.00 utc. On 40/80 some activity until 22.00 utc. All is down until deep the next day. Unfortunately we are hardly active on 160 mtrs.
The good message is: it can only improve now. So we are still going on, trying contacting you. Pse look for us and contact us. Making a sked is alway possible via firstname.lastname@example.org.
And don’t forget: all cities are back in december!!!
Our taskforce wishes all the readers and future counter-stations a healthy and prosperous 2018. A lot of nice QSO’s, in particular with PI4ECC and all 11 city-calls. PF2018LWD will be in the air, starting tomorrow January 1.
Finally we can start!!
And do you wish to check your QSO’s (don’t miss a city!!), look at the Logsearch page on this site.
We hope to work you all, so C U L
We are very proud to annouce that the UNIS Group became sponsor of our project.
UNIS Group is an international service company that specialises in the repair and sales of industrial electronics . From PLC to frequency drives, from softstarter to industrial PCs, UNIS Group is your partner in the repair and service of industrial electronics.
A link to the hamradio-world is obvious. Most of the Hams have a electrotechnical background, reason why some of our colleagues are working in the main office in Grou and why Unis is always looking for new employees.
This cooperation will lead to great advantage for both parties…..
