Friesland (Fryslan) is situated in the northeastern part of the Netherlands with Leeuwarden (Ljouwert) as its capital. The province is green and watery, famous for its sheer size and impressive cloudy skies, but also for its agriculture, horses and dairy cattle.
In addition, this old province is rich in history, which, among other things, is evident from the many traditions, such as the general use of it’s own living language: the Frisian (Frysk), but also from their own culture, such as found in the Anglo-Sachsian countries for example. Furthermore, you will find old churches, castles, small towns and typical old sports all over the province.
